Review 6 out of 5I loved the first book and when the opportunity came to read and review this ARC copy from Emlyn, I grabbed it with both hands! I would like to thank Emlyn for her generosity! I would also like to thank Emlyn for writing a fantastic story about every person's nemesis: low self-esteem.This is the second story in the Farsighted series, and is told from Simmi's point of view.She is a wonderful character, but she doesn't see herself that way. After what happened in the Zoo with her power, her belief in herself is shaken. She looks at her self and sees a fat ugly person. This is not true. She is the most beautiful person, with a kind and healing heart. I wished I could reach into the pages and tell her so! As I read her story, I could somewhat relate. I have weight and self-doubt issues of my own. However, I think that Emlyn has tackled the difficult subject of eating disorders with sensitivity. It is still disturbing that a lot of people feel so bad about themselves that they resort to damaging their health in such a drastic way.Besides making questionable health decisions, Simmi is having doubts about her feelings for Alex and is crushing on Dax.I must say that Alex is a fantastic character, and I loved him in the first book. However, his jealousy of Dax and fear of losing Simmi makes him come across as a bit clingy in this book.Dax is an enigma and I would like to get to know him a bit better. He seems to care for Simmi, but I don't know if he has an agenda, or if he is being sincere. Only time will tell.There were some other fantastic characters that were introduced, which created a new dynamic in the lives of the residents of Grandon. I am now looking forward to reading the next installment in the series to find out what the implications are! I highly recommend this book (and series) if you are looking for a fantastic read!
