I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.I must admit that I had doubts about reviewing this book, as I do not read a lot of poetry. However, as I began to read this book, I was struck by how the words showed every emotion felt by the author; The honesty and depth of feeling pulsed off the pages. I found myself soaking up the emotions: from sadness to love and all shades in between, and finding myself touched deeply. I thoroughly enjoyed reading these poems; It was certainly a page turner!De Ann "Native" Townes Jr has written a compelling and captivating book of poetry that definitely shows her soul in all it's glory. She has struggled and loved like the rest of us, but she has chosen to share her experiences with others, rather than keep them private. I have a new appreciation for her life, and I feel that I know her better because of it. There are some poems that are of a sensual nature, so I don't recommend this book to younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love poetry, or if you are wanting to try a different genre (like me!).
