I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the Author in return for an honest review.I have only read a few horror books, but this story sent a chill up my spine! This story follows a group of 5 friends: Jason, Abby (his wife), Michael, Samantha (Michael's girlfriend) and J.C..They (the men) are paranormal investigators and are planning on investigating an old asylum in Grandview. What transpires is a thrilling rollercoaster ride of terror and horror that will keep you enthralled until the very last page!I did have a few issues with this story. I had a bit of trouble with the dialogue. It came a cross as a bit forced and awkward in places; It didn't seem to flow as it should have. However, this could just be my interpretation. I'm not American, so am not familiar with some of the colloquial language. I also found that the mystery and suspense was not building in me as it should have. The scenes were very well described, but did not leave a lot to my imagination. I like to create a scene in my mind and fill in the blanks. I'm not saying that this story is not well written; far from it, I think it was a little too over detailed. Sometimes this is a very good thing, but it can also be detrimental to a story by making it heavy going for the reader. However, I did enjoy the story very much, and the ending had a twist that I didn't see coming.Robbie Thomas has written a wonderful thriller/horror novel that will chill you to the bone. I think that this book would be wonderful in the visual medium i.e. on TV or on the big screen. If you love horror novels, I highly recommend this paranormal thriller. - Lynn Worton
