I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.I would have loved to give this story a higher rating, but there were a few things that niggled me. The first was the length of the story; I found it was a bit too short! I felt like it was also a bit too rushed. I struggled to connect with the characters too. Usually I do a character breakdown, but in this case I have not because I feel that I don't know the characters well enough. The character development was a bit weak in my opinion, but can be easily remedied with a bit of fleshing out in the next book. The story premise has great promise, and the flow of the story could be a bit more fluid. However, I did enjoy what I read, even though it was a bit "wham, bam, thank you mam!" between Alexander and Lea than I would have liked. I'm all for a great sex scene, but I just didn't feel the spark that I should have, if these two were meant to be a mated pair in love. I mean no disrespect to the author, and I hope that she understands that.Dawn White has written a story that I feel could be so much more, if she just gave her characters a bit more depth. This story is intriguing and holds great promise. I would love to read the next installment to find out what happens next. I do not recommend this book to younger readers due to scenes of a sexual nature and use of some bad language. I recommend this book if you love paranormal romance or stories containing vampires, werewolves, fae or spirit guides. - Lynn Worton
