Ghostly Justice

Ghostly Justice - Bev Irwin I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.I love ghost stories and anything to do with the supernatural or paranormal. So when I was asked if I would like to read this YA paranormal story, I thought I would give it a go. I loved it!Daria Brennan is a wonderful character. She is a sixteen year old with a drunk for a mother. If it wasn't for her best friend, Tracy, life would be a bit unbearable. However, every time she walks past the Morrison house, she gets chills. Suddenly, she is able to read minds. This scares her silly. (I would be petrified myself if that happened to me!). As she is trying to make sense of this situation, she is contacted by Amanda.Amanda Morrison is (or was) seventeen years old when she died. Her death was ruled as suicide, but she knew it was murder. Unfortunately, no-one has been able to hear her - until now. This is an incredibly spooky and absorbing read! It sent chills down my back! The story is fast paced, but very atmospheric, especially Amanda's tale. It left me in tears, as I could imagine the scenes quite clearly. There are a few twists in this tale that kept it interesting, but the biggest surprise is left for near the end of the book. This book doesn't seem to be in a series, as it ended satisfactorily, but I wouldn't mind reading another story with Daria in it.All in all, it was a very entertaining read, and it has left me wanting to read other books by Bev Irwn. Her writing style is fluid and fast paced enough to have me hooked from the first page. I highly recommend this YA Paranormal book if you like YA, Paranormal or Horror genres. - Lynn Worton
