Crimson Shadow: Noir (Limited Edition) - Nathan Squiers Review 6******This is a fascinating and original story, and I absolutely loved it!Xander Striker is a very complex character. Having suffered abuse at the hands of his stepfather, and watching him kill his mother, Xander has hit rock bottom emotionally. He is very lonely, depressed and suicidal. When he is offered a chance to change his life forever, Xander jumps at it. I loved this character's development throughout the book. He finds a purpose to carry on living, even though it costs him dearly.This book is fantastic! Although this story is very dark emotionally, there are glimmers of light. There are more than one characters' point of view, which gives the story a well rounded feel. I loved the way the story flowed from one scene to the next. I also loved the inclusion of the tiger and the Sensei; The scene where Xander meets them made me smile. This book is not for the faint hearted or the squeamish though, as there is a lot of violence. Having said that, this book is extremely absorbing and kept me hooked from the first page! I am now looking forward to reading the next book in the series.Nathan Squiers certainly lives up to his nickname of "The Literary Dark Prince". This book has invoked a lot of emotion within me: anger, sadness and happiness. I am adding this author to my favourites list. I highly recommend this book as a MUST READ if you love paranormal, horror or vampire stories. - Lynn Worton
