Fallen (Lauren Kate's Fallen Series #1)

Fallen - Lauren Kate This is a thrilling and dark tale that completely captured me. I loved it!Luce is a fantastic character. She has had a troubled childhood; She has been in and out of psychiatric care for most of it. Enrolling at Sword & Cross is her last attempt of a normal school year. She is not crazy though. I would say she is the sanest person ever. However, there is something odd happening, and when she meets Daniel, she is sure they have met before.Daniel is an enigma. He is a fantastic character, who blows first hot and then cold towards Luce. As the mystery deepens, I found myself completely routing for him. I sort of have a book crush on him! There are also some fascinating characters in this story. They are Gabbe, Arriane, Cam, Roland and Pennyweather (Penn for short). Their characters are as diverse as their own troubles and issues. They are an eclectic mix that make up this most intriguing YA romance. This is an extremely absorbing read that had me turning the pages like mad! The mystery of why or how Luce and Daniel know each other is woven into an extremely dark and thrilling tale that has so many twists and turns that I certainly didn't see the ending coming! I'm now looking forward to reading the next book in the series.Lauren Kate has written a fast paced YA romance that is certainly entertaining, but it is more than that. It is a thrilling ride of mystery and danger that will leave the reader reeling and wanting to read the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book if you love dark YA romance filled with fallen angels and shadows. - Lynn Worton.
