Review 4*

I received a free sample from the supplier in return for an honest review.

I am more used to writing book reviews than I am for electronic equipment, so when I was approached to review these headphones, I was a little intimidated. However, I decided to try these headphones, as my current ones (which shall remain nameless) do not sit nicely in my ears and keep falling off.

I have been listening to a lot of audio books through my headphones recently, so I decided to give these ones a try. I will say that I was extremely impressed with the presentation of the box. They looked so cool sitting in there that I didn't want to take them out but, that would defeat their purpose. I opened the box and the first thing I noticed was the yellow cord that is woven over the plastic casing surrounding the wires. This is very eye catching and completely different to most other headphones I have come across. There is a mic and on/off tab on the cord, which means you can use this on a wide variety of electronic devices that require headphones such as smart phones, MP3/4 players, E-Readers with text to voice capability, iPads, iPods, Kindles, Nooks and so on. The second thing that struck me was how the wooden ear buds looked more elegant than their plastic counterparts. The soft plastic ear pieces (of which there are 3 pairs) come in two different colours, brown and white/opaque, and also come in three different sizes to make a more comfortable fit, depending on the size of your ear channel.

I used the ear buds that were already installed on the headphones, which happen to be the smallest size. I plugged these into my iPad and put the buds into my ears. I was very impressed at how comfortable they were. They also did not fall out of my ear channels, even when I talked to someone. I also noticed that the sound seemed sharper than through my old ones, but that could be because they (the old ones) were on their way out speaker-wise. But, I did notice there was a reduction in noise, such as hissing from blood pumping in my ears, and ambient noise from people talking or the TV blaring. This made my listening experience a whole lot better. The only con I found was when I moved or shifted in my seat. The yellow cord rubbed against my clothing and it transferred the sound through to the earphones, which then became loud scraping noises through the ear pieces. Perhaps this is one of the reasons other headphone manufacturers only use plastic casings over the wires? However, this still has not spoiled my experience too much, but only time will tell if I get too frustrated and annoyed with it.

I am hoping that these headphones will last a long time but, when they finally do go the way of the Dodo, I would definitely consider buying a pair of these to replace them again. Though without the cord wrapped around the wire casing perhaps?

I highly recommend these if you are looking for a set of headphones that not only look stylish and elegant, but are multi-functional and comfortable to wear. - Lynn Worton
